Volunteer & Connect at First Presbyterian Church
Get Involved
Serve, grow, and connect at First Presbyterian. Find the perfect place to volunteer and deepen your faith, from teaching to music and ministry.
Connect
Sunday services can be accessed by walking in to the church, by using Zoom from another location, or attending the earlier Drive-in service.
We invite you to be part of our family and offer many ways to become involved beyond attending service, to deepen your faith, build friendships, and make a difference. Here are some ideas where you can volunteer and get to know others with the same interests:
Food
Do you like to cook or work in the kitchen? We have lunch together each week and at many gatherings during the year where help in the kitchen cooking, setting up and cleaning up would be very welcome. In addition to the weekly lunches we also have Family Sundays and special occasions where food is served.

Cleaning/Gardening
Do you like to garden, or to clean? First Presbyterian Church has a large front garden that would appreciate the loving hand of a gardener. Similarly, we regularly have church cleaning days where members and friends come to keep the building looking clean and welcoming for all, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows and walls. We then enjoy a pizza lunch together.
Technology
Are you someone who is adept at using modern technology? The church has Internet access in all parts of the building and our Sunday services are streamed. We have used reels and Instagram for some publicity, but we would like to make better use of technology both in the house and in the community. If you have this interest and ability, this would be a place to both grow in your own service and teach others.
Music
Do you have a musical talent? Your talent would be a welcome addition to our Praise Team or choir. The Praise Team practices Tuesday nights and plays on Sunday mornings.
Serving on a Committee
Are you someone who enjoys working with others to plan ahead? The church has several committees, and new ideas are always welcome. It’s a way to learn how the church works and meet other members of the church. Planning overnight retreats or just a one day’s activity with others helps you draw closer together and feel God working with you.
Setting-Up Activities
Are you creative? The church has events and celebrations throughout the year and most of them will have decorations or sets to be designed and put together and set up and taken down. This is an opportunity to be creative and work with others to accomplish your ideas setting up holiday decorations or Sunday family set ups or room designs for special occasions, or for activities you’ve helped to plan.

Bible Study and Prayer Groups
Are you interested in starting a Bible study on a specific passage or a group on a book? If you are interested in building a session for all to grow spiritually and connect with others, there are possibilities to do so.
Volunteer as Needed
If you just want to help out occasionally when needed, there are many times around the church when helping hands are needed for just one activity. This might be setting up or taking down decorations or tables or rearranging a room, or it may be something like the Deacons’ Thanksgiving boxes when help is needed to fill the boxes, or a community service project. All help is appreciated and blessed.
